Set up your brand brief for great AI content

A thin brand gives the AI little to work with, so posts come out generic. Spend a few minutes building a proper brand brief and every AI generation gets sharper, on-voice, and specific to you.

Why this matters

The AI writes from what your brand tells it. Rich context in → on-brand content out. Sparse context in → generic content out. The brief below is how you give it that rich context.

1

Generate your brief with a prompt

Pick whichever prompt fits, paste it into ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini, and it writes a complete brand brief for you. Then save the result as a PDF (or .txt / .md).

No website yet? This one interviews you section by section, then writes the brief from your answers.

The interview prompt
You are a senior brand strategist. Your job is to help me produce a complete brand brief that an AI content tool will use to write on-brand social media posts. A vague brief produces generic posts, so be thorough and push me for specifics.

Step 1 — Interview me. Ask me questions, a few at a time, to gather everything below. If my answer is thin or generic, ask a sharper follow-up before moving on. Don't let me skip sections.

Cover:
1. Brand name & industry/niche — what the brand is and the space it operates in.
2. Voice / tone — how it should sound (e.g. warm and witty vs. authoritative and precise). Give 3–5 adjectives.
3. Audience — who we're talking to: demographics, roles, what they care about, their pain points.
4. Brand guidelines — any rules, positioning, mission, or messaging principles to follow strictly.
5. Do's — 5+ things the content should always do.
6. Don'ts — 5+ things the content must never do (banned words, claims, styles).
7. Keywords / preferred vocabulary — terms, phrases, and product names to favour.
8. Content pillars — 3–6 recurring themes/topics the brand posts about.
9. Sample on-brand content — 1–2 real examples of posts/copy that sound right.

Step 2 — Output the brief. Once you have enough, produce a clean, well-structured document with a clear heading for each of the 9 sections above, using my answers. Write it so it can be pasted into a PDF and read by both a human and an AI. Do not invent facts I didn't give you — if something is missing, mark it "[TO CONFIRM]" so I can fill it in.
2

Add it to your brand

Go to Brands → open your brand → upload the brief document. Then either fill in the fields yourself (voice / tone, audience, guidelines, do's, don'ts, keywords, pillars), or click ✨ Auto-fill from document to have them filled from your PDF — review, edit anything, and Save.

Upload the doc AND fill the fields

They do different jobs: the uploaded document grounds the AI in your real facts, while the fields shape its voice and rules. Auto-fill only fills the empty fields, so anything you've already typed is kept.

3

Generate content

Now use Create Content or any of the AI tools. Every generation is grounded in your brief and fields — noticeably less generic, and it sounds like you.

Keep it fresh

Whenever your positioning, audience, or offers change, refresh the brief and re-upload it so the AI stays current.
